Color Resolutions International Expands Into New Markets

FAIRFIELD, OHIOJune 1, 2007 – Color Resolutions International (CRI) has taken on a new look and new logo as it expands into fast growing new markets for water-based flexographic inks and UV coatings.

Once known primarily as a manufacturer of ink systems for package printing, CRI has expanded its consulting and service capabilities. It now serves the corrugated, folding carton, flexible packaging, tag and label, and envelope markets.

George Sickinger, President and CEO of Color Resolutions International said, “The increasing demand of water-based flexographic printing is really due to two factors. First, the quality and performance of flexographic printing is now on par with the best of gravure or lithographic printing, and second, the strong emphasis on brand-building means that Health & Beauty Aids as well as Food and Drug marketers want to differentiate themselves with their packages. They must be precisely accurate when it comes to color, brilliance, gloss and durability. Flexo gives them that.”

Consulting on the use of water-based, UV and specialty inks has become a growing part of CRI’s business.

Branded products including folding cartons for juices and flexible packaging, such as snack food bags, often call consumer attention with unique designs, specialty inks like fluorescents and metallics, and substrates difficult to print on. CRI chemists can formulate inks for just about any material and then they consult with the printer to make sure they get maximum performance on their particular printing press.

CRI’s logo has been updated to reflect the companies new branding and marketing capability. “We designed our new brand around a triple crescent in a full spectrum of color.” stated David Barker, Vice President of Business Development for CRI. “This better reflects the multiple markets we’ve moved toward, and puts more emphasis on our ability to create and apply inks to work with any color, package or material. We’ll always be known for our strength in P-O-P displays and paper packaging, but we’re an ideal solution for printers in other markets as well.”

Color Resolutions International was founded as Borden Chemical in 1960. Now headquartered in Fairfield, Ohio, the company offers innovative water-based, UV and solvent inks and coatings to fine graphic printers of packaging. CRI specializes in printing high-impact flexible packages for Food and Drug, as well as Non-Food and Health and Beauty Aid markets. CRI’s unique hub and spoke distribution model assures production batch consistency and product quality, providing printers with localized service. CRI supports numerous graphics and printing technical organizations including a major five-year gift to the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation.
