The May/June 2009 edition of Corrugated Today featured a eight page article “Adding Color to Corrugated” by Jackie Schultz, editor. This article described the importance of ink color and corrugated packaging. Color Resolutions International (CRI) application experts, including Carl Cecil, discussed customer expectations regarding delivery of high quality ink and the critical variables which must be controlled in ink application. CRI experts also discussed metering systems, aniloxes and substrates and their demands on ink formulation. Also covered were the physics of press equipment, e.g. vacuum transfer, pull collars, dryer units, etc. CRI’s Paul Fulton detailed expectations that sustainable ink usage will continue to grow.
